How it works

Position and connection

For right , stays close outside right side and directs Uke toward the right rear corner. Tori’s left foot hooks behind Uke’s right ankle and stays connected while the upper body guides Uke backward over the trapped support.

Direction and completion

Mirror on the left. Unlike , the foot maintains a hook rather than reaping through. Keep the contact low at the ankle; do not collapse sideways across Uke’s knee.

Common error

Dropping sideways across the knee replaces the low ankle hook with dangerous joint pressure.
