Distinguish belt-led backward control from a forward shoulder drop.
In a right-handed example, takes the front of belt with the right hand. Tori steps around behind Uke while the other arm controls the hip from the front, moving Uke’s balance backward. The arms lift and guide Uke down with close body contact. Mirror the example on the left. The belt-and-hip action makes this , not a shoulder throw. Keep Uke supported through the landing. Older variations use leg holds; the name alone does not establish whether a version is permitted in an event.
