Hansoku-make

1/2

Key idea

Hansoku-make

means disqualification. A third ends the contest through indirect Hansoku-make. A grave infringement can receive direct Hansoku-make without earlier warnings: examples include head-first diving, locks outside the elbow, and reaping a supporting leg from inside while behind the thrower. Whether the athlete can enter later contests depends on the reason for disqualification and the event format.
